supporting and developing good, sustainable local adult learning provision

Old Hall Associates is a dynamic company run by professionals with a national reputation for their expertise, a track record second to none, and a combined 100 years’ experience in our field.

We provide a wide range of consultancy, strategic support and information services available to all agencies in England who are working to plan, fund, deliver and improve part-time learning opportunities for adults.

We focus on the interface between policy and practice, and aim to influence the coherent strategic development of sustainable and fair arrangements for adult learning provision locally, regionally and nationally.  We do this through effective and timely interventions, working with providers, funding bodies, government and its agencies, and with other stakeholder interests.

We envisage:

  • more and better part-time learning opportunities for adults

  • clarity of strategic direction from stakeholders, and providers with a clear mission

  • closer linkage between demand and supply, focused by agreed priorities

  • improved performance, and the wider adoption of effective practice in adult learning

  • enhanced provider capacity for sustainable organisational development and self-regulation

  • more effective systems to secure learning opportunities for all sections of the community, including those who can pay and those who can’t

  • demonstrable value for money.

The services we provide reflect our overall intent and our team’s detailed experience of every aspect of adult learning, in all sectors.  We offer consultancy ranging from strategic advice and commissioned project work for national and regional agencies, through pre-and post-inspection support for providers, to mentoring for individual managers and practitioners – and everything in between.
